SANAS confirms that all the accredited Verification Agencies enlisted on the SANAS website: http://www.sanas.co.za/directory/bbee_default.php has been duly accredited in terms of Section 22 (2) (b) read with Section 23 (1), (2) and (3) of the Accreditation for Conformity Assessment, Calibration and Good Laboratory Practice Act 19 of 2006, hereinafter referred to as the “Accreditation Act”, as a Verification Agency to, verify and validate the BBBEE status of measured organisations, subject to compliance with the prerequisite terms and conditions and strict compliance to the scope and ambit upon which the SANAS accredited Verification Agency status has been granted.

SANAS confirms the validity of the BBBEE certificates issued by the accredited Verification Agencies enlisted on the SANAS website: http://www.sanas.co.za/directory/bbee_default.php for the period as stipulated in the certificate (i.e. not exceeding 12 months from the date of issue). This confirmation includes BBBEE certificates issued by SANAS accredited Verification Agencies that has subsequent to assessing, verifying and validating the BBBEE status of measured organisations had their accreditation status suspended for part of, or its full scope of accreditation or had its SANAS accreditation withdrawn. Such BBBEE certificates issued by the Verification Agencies remains valid for a period not exceeding 12 months from the date of issue, except for instances where it is found during the validity period of the certificate, that the information contained therein is inaccurate or has changed to the extent that it does not represents the organisation’s BBBEE status.

Section 24 (2) of the Accreditation Act renders any misuse of accreditation, including misrepresentation of data from by a Verification Agency as an offence. SANAS cannot be held liable for any non-compliance with the prerequisite verification standards or any inaccuracies or misrepresentation caused by a Verification Agency during the independent verification process or any inaccuracies or misrepresentation that may occur during the issuing of a certificate by a Verification Agency.
